Guadeloupe beach guide

Choose a beach using the day's conditions, practical access notes and the equipment that makes sense for the location. If one coastline changes, your plan can change with it.

01Sargassum first

Sargassum seaweed can make an otherwise sunny beach less pleasant. Check the official bulletin that same morning: strandings can vary from one day and coastline to another.

Pointe des Châteaux

Pointe des Châteaux: go for the view, not for swimming

This is not a swimming stop. It is one of Guadeloupe's most photographed viewpoints, but it is a walk and lookout rather than a bathing beach: strong currents and no designated swimming area. Leave the beach equipment in the car, walk up to the viewpoint, then continue toward Anse à la Gourde.
